Last week, I only had one project in progress.  That’s no longer the case!  I’m back to my usual project juggling act.

MAPLE LEAF the Eighth

I haven’t finished MAPLE LEAF the Eighth yet.  I have finished the first corner and done the first three rows of another.  Then I set it aside, working instead on the two new projects that I cast on this week.

Wearing Of the Green Socks

Last Thursday, I cast on for another pair of socks.  These socks are part of my HPKCHC OWL.  I need to finish a total of 3 pairs by the end of the month in order to make my 50% OWL progress.  This pair of socks is only the second pair.  I’m just about finished with the foot.  As soon as I finish the current stripe, I will mark my place for the heel.  At this point, I think it is unlikely that I will make my OWL 50%, but I’m still going to try.  I have knit night tonight, and will be working mostly on this project.

Pink One Row Scarf

On Saturday, I cast on for this scarf.  This is one of my HPKCHC Quidditch Round 3 projects.  For this round, we can make up to 3 projects, but each project has to be a duplicate of one that someone turned in for Quidditch Round 2.  If I have enough time, I plan to do a scarf, hat, and mittens set.  Since Quidditch Round 3 ends in 5 days, I think it is unlikely that I will get all three of those projects complete.  Right now, I’m approximately 50% of the way through the scarf and I haven’t started the hat or mittens.  I have been knitting on the scarf when my hands need a break from the US size 1 needles I’m using for the socks or when a cat insists on sitting on my lap.  I can’t comfortably knit either of my other two projects with a cat on my lap, but I can comfortably work on the scarf.

If you look carefully at the picture, you can see an end on the right, about 3/4 of the way up from the bottom, next to the needle.  A cat chewed through my yarn!  I am usually careful to put away my knitting projects when I go to bed, but last night I forgot.  I left this scarf on the seat of the couch where I had been sitting to work on it.  This morning, when I woke up, I found Puck sleeping on the scarf, hugging the ball of yarn.

Later, Pepper was sleeping on it.  I’m not sure which one of them was chewing on the yarn.  It could have been either of them.  I’m just glad the culprit didn’t damage any of the finished knitting!
